Urgent dental care is understood as that which takes place through the use of rapid intervention actions aimed at relieving painful symptoms of the oral cavity.
Several situations can generate a dental emergency, which, generally, lead to work, school leave and low quality of life of the affected patient. It occurs more frequently in people who do not have regular treatment with a dentist, but it can also appear after or during dental treatment;

The greater demand for emergency services in health units is undoubtedly due to diseases of the pulp and peri-apex, with pain being the most relevant symptom. Among these diseases we can mention:

pulpitis - acute inflammation of the dental pulp, a tissue with several nerves and blood vessels located inside the teeth

pulp necrosis - chronic inflammation leading to "Death" the dental pulp, producing gas and intense pain.

dental fracture - Various trauma

pericoronaritis - inflammation of the soft tissue that covers the crown of a tooth, usually seen in wisdom teeth.
